
The strategic partnership between the Czech Republic and Vietnam emphasizes cooperation in education, science, technology, and digital transformation. This includes areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC), and data-driven innovation.
The purpose of the tripartite agreement between INDRC, TDTU, and VVAis to create a framework for scientific, academic, and technological collaboration within the CLARA project and beyond.
Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The meetings began with a visit to Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in HoChiMinh City. INDRC Executive Board member and CLARA Center Director, Prof. RNDr. Václav Snášel, participated in the International Seminar on AI, Big Data and Quantum Technologies, organized by the Ton Duc Thang University.
Prof. Snášel’s lecture „Geometry of Data“ was very well received by the seminar organizers and their representatives, as well as by participants from other universities, including Tien Giang University, Dong Nai University of Technology, and Pham Van Dong University.
Following the Vietnam–EU Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, INDRC representatives, Dr. Vít Dočkal, INDRC Director, and Dr. Ing. Eva Dočkalová, INDRC CLARA Project Manager, participated in a workshop with representatives of Ton Duc Thang University to discuss collaboration on joint European projects.
FPT Corporation, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
On the following day, INDRC and the CLARA project team held meetings with the top management of FPT Corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, represented by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, the company’s Chief Technology Officer.
FPTCorporation is a key player in Vietnam’s digital transformation, with activities spanning technology, telecommunications, and education.
The discussions created opportunities for joint research projects, staff exchanges, and support for innovation and start-ups, and took place against the backdrop of the strategic partnership agreement between the Czech Republic andthe Socialist RepublicofVietnam, as well as the Vietnam–EUComprehensive Strategic Partnership, established in January 2026.
Vietnam Aviation academy (Học viện Hàng không), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Vietnam Aviation Academy was the place of another visit. The Academy is very experienced in image processing with clear relevance to the CLARA center project RP2. Dr. Le Minh Hung, Medical Image Research, was discussing specific opportunities for collaboration with the CLARA scientific team.

The CLARA project was presented as a specific example of how cutting-edge research can be connected with a responsible approach to the development and implementation of AI solutions.
Hung Vuong Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Other important meetings took place with the management of the Hung Vuong Hospital,Ho Chi Minh City, which is Vietnam's largest neonatal center.
In the presence of the Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Diem Tuyet, the joint discussions focused, among other things, on possible cooperation within the framework of grant calls on the topic of the impact of pollutants on the human brain.
Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The series of strategic meetings came to a close on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with discussions held between INDRC and the CLARA center team and Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) President.
The meeting focused on identifying practical steps to build long-term cooperation between Czech and Vietnamese institutions in research, innovation, and business acceleration under the framework of the Czech-Viet AI Impact Hub driven by the INDRC & CLARA center, its spin- off CLAIRIS, and Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU).
It also highlighted the importance of the overall INDRC & CLARA center mission to India and Vietnam, carried out within the strategic vision of the EU- IndoViet Deep Tech Accelerator.
The INDRC India – Vietnam mission strengthens existing partnerships and opensupopportunities for new ones, as well as further development of the institute and the projects it oversees.
