Expertise and Focus

The Paris Brain Institute is an international research centre whose innovative concept and structure make it the only institute of its kind in the world. It brings patients, doctors and researchers together with the aim of rapidly developing treatments for disorders of the nervous system and enabling patients to benefit from them as quickly as possible.

Within the Paris Brain Institute, the ARAMIS lab is devoted to the design of computational, mathematical and statistical approaches for the analysis of multimodal patient data in brain disorders, with an emphasis on imaging data. The core methodological domains of the team are machine learning, statistics and data science, and medical image computing. These new approaches are applied to clinical research in brain disorders in collaboration with other teams of the Paris Brain Institute, clinical departments of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital and external partners.

The main research focus is on Machine learning, statistics and data science, medical image computing, brain disorders.

Role in CLARA

Within CLARA, PBI will contribute to the further development of software and models and exploit unique hybrid computing resources. Furthermore, among others, PBI will share best practices with the Fellowship Program of Excellence.

PBI will lead WP3 on scientific and innovation capacity. We will contribute to the integration of research knowledge and scientific excellence. Moreover, PBI plays an important role in the research and innovation capacity building and scientific leadership and mentorship.

Representatives

Dr. Olivier Colliot, Research director

WP3 lead

‘CLARA presents a unique opportunity to integrate molecular, biochemical and patient level data using AI and high-performance computing to advance research on neurodegenerative diseases. Our contribution will focus on developing software for multimodal data harmonization to enable seamless integration of diverse biomedical, imaging and clinical data for robust disease modelling.’
