Czech and Indian innovations in the field of Artificial Intelligence: Two new collaborations launched at AI Impact Expo 2026

The International Neurodegenerative Disorders Research Center (INDRC), together with partners from the Czech Republic and India, has confirmed several strategic collaborations during the India AI Impact Expo and Summit 2026 in New Delhi. Key agreements were signed with CyberPleaders, the CLARA spin-off company CLAIRIS, and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, marking an important step in expanding Czech–Indian cooperation in artificial intelligence, research, and innovation.

Two new Czech–Indian collaboration agreements were accelerated by the India AI Impact Summit 2026, strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence between European and Indian innovation actors. At the same time, the first spin-off of the CLARA Centre is entering the Indian market with services focused on ethical and trustworthy AI. While concluded by research organizations, startups, and industry partners, the agreements reflect the priorities of the EU–India Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agenda “Towards 2030,” endorsed on 27 January 2026, which calls for deeper cooperation in technology and innovation between trusted partners. By promoting trustworthy AI for research and business, these initiatives contribute to the practical implementation of this strategic vision. The agreements were formally signed on Monday, 16 February 2026, at the joint Czech exhibition booth. The collaboration between INDRC, CyberPleaders, and CLAIRIS - the first spin-off of the CLARA project - was sealed through a cooperation agreement and related business contracts. At the same occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding between INDRC and IIT Roorkee was signed in the presence of Prof. Mili Pant from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing and Prof. Karun Rawat, Dean of International Relations at IIT Roorkee.

These activities took place as part of the joint Czech exhibition at the India AI Impact Expo, organized by the INDRC together with the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CIIRC CTU) and other partners. The exhibition presents a cross-section of Czech capabilities in artificial intelligence, from industrial and digital manufacturing applications to medical and trusted AI solutions. Through these agreements, INDRC takes a strategic step toward expanding its presence and impact in India. The cooperation supports the establishment of CLAIRIS s.r.o. as an official spin-off and creates a legal and business framework for activities on the Indian market. At the same time, the partnership with IIT Roorkee opens the door to collaboration with leading experts in applied mathematics and computational sciences. The initiative aligns with the recently signed Joint Statement on the Czechia–India strategic partnership for innovation. The partners will explore opportunities to expand cooperation in research and technology, promote exchanges, and share best practices among researchers and innovative entrepreneurs with the goal of enabling future joint projects.

These steps are also in line with the European Commission’s strategic agenda, Towards 2030: A Joint European Union–India Comprehensive Strategic Agenda, endorsed at the 16th EU–India Summit in New Delhi on 27 January 2026. The agenda aims to deepen cooperation in areas including technology, innovation, security, and connectivity. “Entering India is a strategic move with a long-term vision. It opens new avenues for research collaboration, innovation, and global engagement, and positions INDRC as an institution ready to think beyond borders and act with ambition,” says Dr. Vít Dočkal, Director of INDRC. "It has been a great pleasure and source of pride for me to be present today at the signing of both memoranda at the Czech innovation ecosystem exhibition stand, which is an excellent representation of Czech science and research at such an important event as India AI Impact Expo 2026 in New Delhi. This is an extraordinary opportunity for the development of further cooperation between Czech and Indian partners in the field of science and innovation," emphasises Her Excellency Dr. Eliška Žigová, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India. “This occasion marks a significant and symbolic step in strengthening Czech Indian cooperation and underscores the strategic importance of this initiative espicailly in the field of AI, Data Privacy and Research,” says Lalit Patil, PhD, Founder of CyberPleaders.

The India AI Impact Expo is held under the patronage of Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, and is one of the most important global trade fairs focused on artificial intelligence in Asia. Together with the accompanying India AI Impact Summit, it brings together government representatives, research institutions, and technology leaders from around the world. “Building trustworthy, ethical, and interoperable solutions can become a reference model for international partnerships, accelerating the path from data to decision-making and from decision-making to more effective treatment procedures,” says Prof. Václav Snášel, Director of the CLARA project.

The International Neurodegenerative Disorders Research Center (INDRC), is a private, not-for-profit, global research institute founded in 2021 in Prague, Czech Republic, to apply artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions to identify and validate therapeutic interventions for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other neurodegenerative disorders. INDRC was established to address the challenges faced in identifying and validating novel interventions for neurodegenerative diseases. INDRC uses a transparent governance model that includes committed international partners from the European Union, North America and around the world, including universities, research institutes, clinical centres and companies, as well as not-for-profit companies. The Institute applies AI and ML to develop novel integrated analytical methods using an interdisciplinary approach to study the function and information processing of the healthy and diseased human brain.
