INDRC & CLARA Center Informal Roundtable and Networking Reception

The International Neurodegenerative Disorders Research Center (INDRC) and the CLARA Center co-organized an informal roundtable and networking reception titled “Accelerating Alzheimer’s Innovation through Collaboration: CLARA Center and Beyond”, held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. local time at the Hilton San Diego, U.S.

The event brought together members of the INDRC Scientific Advisory Board and CLARA Research Program 3 (RP3) scientific team, their scientific colleagues, and prospective collaborators. Its primary aim was to share recent scientific advances and strategic priorities of both the INDRC and the CLARA Center program, while actively engaging participants in shaping next-stage partnerships, co-ventures, and real-world applications in Alzheimer’s diagnostics, treatment, and care innovation.

The roundtable also provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with long-standing collaborators and to meet new colleagues ahead of the CTAD Clinical Trials on Alzheimer's Disease conference in San Diego, held on December 1 – 5, 2025.

The program opened with welcoming remarks by James Arthur Rice, Chairman of the INDRC Executive Board. This was followed by reflections from Ara Khachaturian, INDRC Chief Scientific Officer, together with Jean-Marie Bouteiller, Chair of the INDRC Scientific Advisory Board. They highlighted INDRC’s mission and progress, the growing momentum of the CLARA Center consortium and its new partnerships, and emphasized why collaboration is more critical than ever in advancing Alzheimer’s research and innovation.

Dr. Khachaturian further framed the discussion around the question:

“What do we need to accelerate new interventions and diagnostics to improve timely access to brain health?”

His lightning insights included updates on CLARA Center projects as well as current and future opportunities for international collaboration.

The evening concluded with a networking reception that encouraged continued dialogue among distinguished attendees, including Prof. William Perry,  Prof. Robert Rissman, Prof. Jacques Touchon, Prof. Ornit Chiba-Falek, Prof. Duygu Tosun-Turgut, Dr. Gustavo Jimenez-Maggiora, and Prof. William Mobley. Discussions focused on collaborative approaches, shared challenges, and emerging opportunities, with particular emphasis on globalized projects and the research components needed to drive meaningful impact in Alzheimer’s disease.
