Lukáš Drahník is a bioinformatics researcher. During his studies in Computer Science at the Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology, Ingeniería Informática de la Universidad de Sevilla, and Bioinformatics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and the Faculty of Science, Charles University, he developed a strong interest in algorithm design, complemented by a deep passion for biology.
For many years, he held multiple positions at large public hospitals, including the General University Hospital and Bulovka University Hospital in Prague. There, he actively worked to ensure that the public healthcare sector not only kept pace with the private sector but also played a more significant role in basic research.
For several years, his research focus has been the design of artificial transcription factors, partly in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG CAS).In collaboration with IMG CAS, he has also worked on denoising biological signals, clustering data, recognizing cell states from images, and analyzing trajectories of objects extracted from videos, all using various neural network architectures. Also worked on improving a mass spectrometry tool and a mouse phenotyping pipeline.
Within the INDRC and the CLARA project, his research interests are connected to generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), topological data analysis (TDA), and quantum computing (QC).
