As RP3 Co-lead at #CLARA, Dr. Jean-Marie Bouteiller brings a unique combination of neuroscience and engineering to advance our understanding of brain function and dysfunction.
A Research Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC), he has spent over two decades developing cutting-edge computational models that bridge multiple biological scales — from molecular mechanisms to neuronal networks. His work led to the creation of the EONS platform, a highly detailed synaptic modeling system framework used to support drug discovery and development in neurological disorders.
With a background spanning electrical engineering, computer science, and computational neuroscience, Dr. Bouteiller focuses on how complex interactions between electrical, chemical, and metabolic processes shape learning, memory, and neurodegeneration. His research integrates mechanistic and data-driven approaches to uncover how these processes contribute to both healthy brain function and disease.
At CLARA, he is a strong advocate for multidisciplinary collaboration, leveraging high-performance computing and advanced modeling techniques to accelerate discoveries and translate them into impactful therapeutic strategies.
