Short bio

Ara S. Khachaturian, PhD is Founder and Executive Officer of the Brain Watch Coalition, a public-private initiative advancing brain resilience, performance, and real-world evidence infrastructure across healthcare systems. He also serves as Chief Scientific Officer of the International Neurodegenerative Disorders Research Center (INDRC), where he leads efforts integrating clinical research, data science, and high-performance computing to accelerate innovation in brain health.

Dr. Khachaturian has more than two decades of leadership at the intersection of epidemiology, clinical research, and health policy. He is the founding Executive Editor of the Alzheimer’s & Dementia journal family and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Aging Research & Lifestyle and Vitality, Medicine & Engineering. He is also co-host of the podcast “Empowering Proteomics,” available through Frontiers.

 

His current work focuses on translating brain health science into deployable care models, particularly in inpatient and transitional care settings. This includes identifying actionable clinical and behavioral signals, and enabling health systems to test and scale new approaches using existing workflows, data infrastructure, and real-world conditions.
