Training Program

Training Program

In pursuit of scientific excellence, CLARA places a strong emphasis on creating opportunities for the professional development of early-career researchers. These initiatives are designed to support the professional growth and personal development of researchers and employees, fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Training Activities within the CLARA

1

Scientific Training & Skill Development

CLARA will provide specialized training in emerging research fields, including AI, machine learning, hybrid computing, and brain health research. Educational programs will emphasize research integrity, ethical AI, and responsible scientific practices, adhering to the recommendations of The Committee on Publication Ethics. Participants will engage in courses, workshops, and seminars that cover topics such as authorship, citation, peer review, and the ethical integration of AI in medical research.

2

Young Talent Incubator

The CLARA Young Investigator Award will recognize exceptional contributions to AI/ML and hybrid computing in brain health. Additionally, CLARA Summer Schools will offer high-quality training on subjects like protein engineering, computational enzyme design, and AI/ML applications in brain health. These programs provide access to cutting-edge technologies and infrastructure. Hands-on computational courses will be organized periodically, attracting global participants, including professionals from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

3

Professional & Personal Development

Early-career researchers will benefit from participating in conferences, networking events, and career-building activities. Soft skills training will cover essential competencies such as communication, teamwork, and resilience, ensuring participants are well-prepared for both academic and industry careers. Capacity-building seminars will address topics like intellectual property rights (IPR), technology transfer, patenting strategies, business plan development, and commercialization opportunities.

Mobility program

The CLARA Mobility Program is designed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers and Ph.D. students within the CLARA network and beyond. This initiative will create valuable opportunities for joint ventures with both internal and external partners, enhancing the mobility of talented individuals and accelerating the dissemination of new ideas and cutting-edge research.

The CLARA Mobility Program will offer support for both short-term and long-term visits of researchers and Ph.D. students. These visits will enable participants to gain complementary expertise by engaging with labs or companies inside and outside of the CLARA network.

The program will also support external researchers and students who are interested in collaborating with CLARA partners, ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach to knowledge sharing.

CLARA’s training programs are designed for a broad audience, including:

Scientific Community & Stakeholders:

Research institutes, universities, clinical centers, and non-academic experts, as well as related EU-funded projects in AI & Data.

Young Talents:

Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students involved in research projects, who will benefit from summer schools, seminars, and specialized training.

Secondary School Students:

Students engaged in research teams, gaining early exposure to scientific work.

Industry Professionals:

Participants from the biotech, pharma, and AI sectors, who will engage in specialized training sessions.

By fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment, CLARA is shaping the next generation of scientists with the essential scientific, digital, and soft skills needed for the future. The program actively promotes international internships, industry collaborations, and networking opportunities, playing a pivotal role in bridging the skills gap and strengthening Europe’s research and innovation landscape.
